The Opportunity

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project, from planning and scheduling to budgeting and reporting.  In order to be successful in this role, you need to have a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of the project and the business goals that it is trying to achieve.
  • Coordinating with facility managers or project managers to ensure that work is progressing on schedule
  • Reviewing progress reports from each team member to track the status of each task
  • Preparing cost estimates for projects
  • Monitoring contractor work hours to ensure that they are working efficiently
  • Scheduling meetings with stakeholders to discuss project objectives and requirements
  • Communicating with other team members to ensure that all requirements are met
  • Working with engineers to ensure that construction plans are feasible and meet legal requirements
  • Assist in managing a project’s finances to ensure that costs are controlled and within budget
  • Supervise a team of subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties involved in the project

What you will bring:

The successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment, and have the ability to develop positive working relationships. Candidates must have:
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical Certificate/Degree (Engineering or Trades Journeyperson)
  • Commercial or Industrial Construction Experience is an asset
  • Maintenance or Project Management experience in a Food Industry setting is an asset
  • Autocad Experience
  • Understanding of Microsoft office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Purchasing experience in a Production/Maintenance setting is an asset
  • Supervisory experience
  • Six Sigma knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to exercise judgment, make timely decisions and be open to change.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take the initiative and problem solve
