Sr. Finance Manager - External Reporting

Mississauga - Financial Dr., ON

 The Opportunity:

Boost your career and come join our professional, motivated, and fun-loving finance team working for a Canadian-based public company. Reporting to the Director Finance, Assistant Controller you will lead a team responsible for providing accurate and timely consolidation of the Company’s external IFRS financial statements, consolidated internal management reports, and legal entity reporting. You will partner with our tax, treasury, operations, and investor relations teams to lead the quarterly reporting process for financial statements and MD&A; learn our business, and sharpen your skills for continuous improvement.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Grow your leadership and coaching skills as you lead a team responsible for:
    • Consolidation of the Company’s financial results (management and external reports)
    • Maintaining effective control environment within the external reporting process
  • Lead the process for preparation of the Company’s audited financial statements, MD&A, and related documents; working cross functionally with other teams, and ensuring appropriate approval and review by senior management.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and greater efficiencies, and implement solutions
  • Identify areas of weakness in internal controls in the reporting process and recommend improvements
  • Act as liaison for the annual audit process with external auditors
  • Participate in supporting business decisions with ad-hoc analysis as required

What You’ll Bring:

  • CPA designation
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Experience with public company reporting and consolidation
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Proven ability to coach and lead a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work and drive improvements within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
