2nd Class Power Engineer

Winnipeg - Lagimodiere Blvd., MB

 The Opportunity:

Become an integral part of our dynamic food manufacturing company as a 2nd Class Engineer. Your role will be pivotal in overseeing regulatory compliance and managing the efficient operation of our plant. We offer a competitive 2nd Class Power Engineer Rate of $48.27 per hour.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Maintain and operate various utilities equipment and processes, spanning steam plants, HVAC, compressed air, water systems, natural gas and refrigeration.
  • Collaborate with contractors, manufacturers, and vendors for streamlined operations.
  • Develop and manage essential protocols including SOPs, PMs, PDM, and WOs.
  • Spearhead project development and implementation, focusing on utilities enhancements.
  • Uphold health, safety, and food safety policies.
  • Cultivate a culture of engagement, responsibility, accountability, and teamwork among employees.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 2nd Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Proficiency in managing steam, ammonia, and refrigeration systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
  • Team player mentality with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing setting is advantageous
Preferred Hiring Criteria:
  • Steam & refrigeration experience
  • Additional tickets such as Millwright & Plumbing an asset
  • Experience in a food processing environment
  • Good computer skills - proficient in Microsoft office applications & experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Experience with root cause analysis & continuous improvement programs such as 6Sigma
  • Requires initiative, results oriented, demonstrated leadership & excellent communication skills
  • Work as part of a team & be an exceptional fit with our Leadership Edge Values
  • Project management experience
  • Desire to achieve personal, departmental & plant goals
