Position Summary
We are seeking dependable, motivated individuals to join our team in a leadership role supporting our breeder farm operations. As a Lead Hand, you will play a key role in overseeing daily farm activities, ensuring animal care standards are met, and supporting team performance. This position provides operational leadership throughout the work week and assumes additional responsibilities during the absence of the Farm Supervisor(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, clean, and sort eggs according to quality standards
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation across breeder farm
  • Completion of required paperwork
  • Monitor and manage bird feeding schedules, ensuring proper nutrition and feed inventory control
  • Maintain detailed logs of quality checks and production outputs
  • Checking barns and eggs
  • Weekend on call managing farm operations and staff
  • Providing day-to-day direction of employees
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio security protocols
  • Ensure compliance with animal health and welfare protocols
  • Ensure proper care and operational readiness of infrastructure, tools, and resources
  • SAP Data Entry
  • Training as required
  • Other duties as assigned

What’s in it for you?
  • $23.33 - $24.33 per hour (based on progression)
  • All PPE is provided to employees (Boot Reimbursement of $125 after 3 months of service)

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Must understand and follow all Animal Welfare/CHEQ/Biosecurity procedures
  • Proven ability in current position (attendance included)
  • Egg gathering experience an asset
  • Mechanical ability an asset
  • Willing and able to work statutory holidays and 2 of 4 weekends
  • Able to work independently
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Poultry background an asset
  • Valid G driver’s license
