The Opportunity

 The intent of the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) is to ensure that we manage and reduce risk at all levels (Food Safety, Quality and Business) while promoting customer and consumer confidence in the food safety and quality of our products.  The FSQMS team will achieve this by defining minimum requirements/standards and approaches for effective food safety and quality management across the company, both in plants and across corporate functions.

The Senior Specialist, FSQMS will provide ongoing program management for the implementation of QMS and QMS 2.0 across the MLF and GLF plant networks. In addition, the leader manages document control (Sharepoint, MS Teams administration) for FSQATS and partners with IS to setup Sharepoint sites for corporate and plants, as well as supports other FSQMS activities related to analytics, complaints processing, and SAP QM.me of the exciting things you will lead and do:

QMS Management

  • Lead QMS and QMS 2.0 processes at plants including project management, analytics, training, driving actions on gaps

  • Oversee QMS execution teams, assign responsibilities, develop project schedules and determine resource requirements

  • Identify/resolve obstacles to deliver project on time and on budget

  • Lead execution of QMS changes/updates for Prepared Meats and Further Processed Poultry plants including ongoing management of any new plants once QMS is implemented

  • Provide QMS “101” training spanning development, operational QMS and metrics, as needed at plants, or for a wider audience (ex. 8:30 calls)

Document Control and Sharepoint (SP) Administration

  • Maintain the Document Management C-STD and Work Instructions

  • Coach and support document owners to update C-STDs and SOPs to meet review deadlines

  • Oversee SP routing of documentation to ensure documents have been approved by designated leaders in compliance with IA and BRCGS standards

  • Own and administer specific FSQATS SP sites such as Internal Audit, HACCP/Regulatory, Training, and Claims

  • Liaise with IS on SP updates, issues, and MS Teams linkages, then communicate with FSQATS stakeholders

Other FSQMS Support

  • Provide ad hoc support to SAP QM team, leader of Complaints process, Analytics team (PowerBI, Excel)

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years in food processing
  • Knowledge of SAP (RD and QM), Power BI, Sharepoint, MS Teams
  • Demonstrated competency in project planning, execution, communication and change management
  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma of Science
  • Demonstrated influence without authority
  • Demonstrated coaching skills
  • Six Sigma White Belt
  • Statistical process control (to support analytics team)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Participation (evidence of progression through GB program)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Project Management Certification
  • HACCP certification/accreditation
  • Knowledge of full Power Apps suite
  • Experience using statistical software such as Minitab
