The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Distribution Supervisor will lead and direct a team of Distribution Team Members on the night shift. They will be accountable for all inbound, outbound, and order fulfillment activities. The night shift runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.Any MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by September 11. Compensation: $62,000 – $91,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for the distribution activities within the facility, including coordinating all shipping and receiving activities within the plant. The incumbent will work closely with Production, Purchasing, FSQA, Transportation, and Scheduling departments to coordinate movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products on and off site.- Consistent with our leadership values, act as a champion for our culture by leading the distribution team in the development and execution of a positive and productive environment that goes across all levels and is focused on the needs of our people.
- Oversee the order fulfillment operation to ensure the accuracy of receiving, shipping, order picking, cycle counts, and on-time delivery departure
- Maintain a safe working environment for team members, ensuring all plant Health and Safety policies and processes are followed properly for the operation of PMHEs, movement of goods and staff within the warehouse and the trailer yard, and with the receiving and loading of trailers. Report all incidents to the Health and Safety Manager and support with incident investigations
- Follow all Plant GMP and FSQA requirements and ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Responsible for ensuring that SAP-EWM and SAP-ECC transactions for all Distribution functions are completed promptly
- Ensure that finished products are picked according to customer matrix
- Maintain appropriate record keeping and inventory of CHEP pallets and IFCO totes
- Monitor and control labour costs and productivity performance
- Monitor inventory levels from production to ensure timely and accurate order filling
- Working with the Inventory Specialist to execute cycle counts and maintain good inventory accuracy
- Manage an hourly workforce fairly and equitably in accordance with company policies and procedures to deliver operational and work environment objectives including communications, safety, training, performance management, work assignment, attendance management, Team meetings, competency assessment, coaching, and discipline.
- Ensure compliance with internal company policies and standard operating procedures (i.e. HACCP, GMP) and external regulations/legislation (i.e. CFIA, OHSA, ESA)
- Supervise the shunt activities within the yard relating to the shipping of finished goods and receiving materials.
- Maintain harmonious relationships with all employees, including cross-functional departments
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience
- Material handling equipment experience an asset (Forklift, Dock stocker, Reach)
- Strong SAP experience an asset – ECC & EWM modules
- Health and Safety leadership experience
- A desire to build a winning team
- Proven initiative and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
