Position Summary The Production Worker supports a variety of production and operational areas based on business needs. This role assists with chick grading, egg room duties, hatcher operations, and may support transportation activities, including delivering loads when required. The Production Worker ensures workflow continuity during employee absences and production fluctuations.
Key Responsibilities
Available to be cross trained in several general labor positions across the production floor.
Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the Hatcher Room, hatching machines, tops, and overhead areas daily prior to egg transfer, following the seven-step sanitation process to prevent cross-contamination.
Chick Room: Grade and sort chicks in accordance with quality, welfare, and biosecurity standards.
Delivery Helper: assist drivers with the delivery of day-old chicks to customer farms and provide backup support for chick delivery and egg truck drivers as required.
Box Wash: Cleaning and sanitizing chick boxes, dollies, and egg trays to support daily hatchery operations.
Provide coverage for vacation, sick time, absenteeism, and workload fluctuations.
Adhere to Maple Leaf Foods AgOps Biosecurity Policy and Personal Hygiene Program at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

$20.90 - $21.90 per hour (based on progression)
Qualifications
The role requires attention to detail, safe handling practices, adherence to SOPs and health & safety protocols
Ability to work flexible hours until tasks are completed
Physically capable of standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 lbs repetitively. Must be comfortable working in conditions that may involve strong odours, noise, wet surfaces and humidity.
Must adhere to PCP, WHIMS and CFIA standards
No formal education required; on-the-job training provided
