HR Coordinator

 The Opportunity:

A hands‑on HR role for experienced practitioners in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, the Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the HR Team at the Speedvale facility in Guelph, Ontario, supporting frontline team members. Reporting to the onsite HR Manager, this role provides experienced HR coordination and frontline support, ensuring HR programs, policies, and processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in alignment with company values.

This role requires an individual who can operate with a high degree of ownership, manage competing priorities, and build credibility with employees and supervisors through responsiveness, sound judgement, and strong follow through. The successful incumbent brings a solid working knowledge of HR practices and contributes to employee relations activities while maintaining operational excellence.

Base Salary:   $46,000 - $69,000 CAD base pay annually

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

HR Operations & Employee Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries, providing clear information, guidance, and timely follow up
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee records in SAP, including job changes, wage updates, personnel information, and employment status
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to leaves of absence, benefits and pension programs, payroll/ADP, and HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure employee communications, forms, and resources are kept current and accessible to frontline team members
  • Maintain accurate and confidential paper and electronic personnel files
Payroll, Time & Attendance
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate coding and approvals in Kronos and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Process payroll for third party contractors as required
  • Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and timelines
Recruitment, Onboarding & Orientation
  • Lead full cycle recruitment for frontline and temporary roles, including internal job postings, coordination with supervisors, interviews, and hiring documentation
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for full time and temporary employees, ensuring completion of all required documentation and training records in collaboration with FSQA and Health & Safety
  • Manage onboarding activities including first day readiness, shift details, locker assignments, system access, and timely data entry into SAP
Employee Relations & Attendance Management
  • Provide day to day support for employee relations matters, including participation in investigations, documentation, and follow up actions, with guidance from the HR Manager
  • Prepare employee correspondence and disciplinary documentation as required
  • Lead the attendance management program, maintain accurate trackers, and provide guidance to supervisors on process and expectations
  • Maintain HR trackers related to attendance, discipline, recruitment, and investigations to support consistency and record keeping
Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with HR metrics, reporting, and SAP data analysis to support operational decision making
  • Coordinate and support annual employee training programs and compliance activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, communication, and coordination
General Site & Engagement Support
  • Manage the swipe card access program for new hires, employees on leave, terminations, and visitors
  • Provide site reception support as required, including greeting visitors, managing sign in procedures, and coordinating deliveries
  • Support plant employee engagement and social activities
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources or a related field (CHRP designation or progress toward designation considered an asset)
  • 2–4 years of Human Resources experience, ideally in a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HR operations, recruitment, payroll, and employee relations processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and urgency
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR systems (SAP, Kronos, or similar systems considered an asset)
  • Initiative, sound problem solving skills, and a collaborative, hands on approach
