The Opportunity:
The Training Coordinator plays a key role identifying and developing training programs for staff in a highly automated meat manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for creating, delivering, monitoring, and improving training programs. The programs need to support employee safety, knowledge and proper use of equipment, quality and food safety education, and improving production and efficiency. This role further supports the Plant by ensuring training records are meeting company compliance requirements internally and externally in a highly regulated work environment.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Creates, implements, and teaches using illustrated tools to support safe employee behavior, proper handling of equipment to minimize loss & damage, and to improve employee technique to maximize productivity and employee performance.
- Accountable for creating a visual training program that will assist supervisors in quickly identifying employee certification levels on the floor to improve safety, longevity of equipment, and increase productivity levels.
- Will work with SMEs from H&S, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Production and HR staff to ensure that course content and learning objectives are taught and applied appropriately.
- Creates, identifies, assesses, and evaluates employee training programs that are appropriate to the learning level of all staff involved and meet the objectives of the department.
- Experience working as a trainer in a multicultural learning environment would be a definite asset.
- Experience in managing and controlling an electronic database for training records is required to ensure data integrity and compliance. Reporting on information is required as requested.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work respectfully with all levels of staff and supervision in a multicultural work environment are essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, speak, write, and actively engage staff is required.
- The ability to coach, provide direction, and support to existing trainers, by offering advice on training techniques and other improvements is required.
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point, Outlook) are required.
- Knowledge with information technology applications and learning management systems (LMS) such as SAP and Alchemy is considered an asset.
- Other related and administrative duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Working towards or completion of a post-secondary education program, diploma or degree in Human Resources management
- Excellent computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook with a passion for accuracy
- Strong team player with problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent Communication and Written skills
- Ability to get things done within a decentralized environment with minimal supervision
- Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and enjoys challenging oneself
