Talent Acquisition Specialist

 The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for executing innovative sourcing, branding, and recruitment strategies, with a specific focus on Skilled Trades and Manufacturing Operations. As an advocate for the candidate experience, you will provide an exceptional recruitment experience from beginning to end.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be expected to:
  • Act as a strategic partner to Hiring Managers, understanding the needs of the business and aligning talent acquisition strategies.
  • Tailor their recruitment strategy to attract talent for high demand and licensed skilled trades professionals, with a focus on licensed Millwrights and Electricians.
  • Provide market insights and data-driven recommendations to influence hiring decisions and workforce planning.
  • Build and maintain an active talent pipeline by proactively identifying and engaging top talent, using innovative sourcing techniques.
  • Deliver a consultative experience for candidates and Hiring Managers, ensuring a high-touch and personalized approach throughout the recruitment process.
  • Showcase strong relationship management skills by mentoring and guiding hiring managers and team members on best recruitment practices.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring a diverse range of candidates are considered for all roles.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Manage a high volume and full lifecycle recruitment process for skilled trades and manufacturing operations requisitions.
  • Identify unique and differentiated talent attraction strategies in a highly competitive talent market.
  • Analyze recruitment data and analytics to influence hiring strategies and recruitment funnel effectiveness.
  • Conduct searches within LinkedIn, Indeed, and other sources to pre-screen and attract passive candidates.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in support of our broader talent acquisition strategy, including apprenticeships, international recruitment, vendors, agency partners, and HR operations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Consistent demonstration of the Maple Leaf Leadership Values, both in your personal application and in your evaluation of prospective candidates.
  • Proven and recurring success leading skilled trades recruitment, including compelling and differentiated talent attraction strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the skilled trades market and the specific competencies required for licensed roles, including Millwrights and Electricians.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones.
