The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Reliability Manager, will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing performance of equipment assets and processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Provide leadership and support of manufacturing improvement projects to make existing equipment, processes, and systems better (plant capacity, line efficiency, downtime reduction, waste reduction, cost savings and process streamlining).
- Works with Maintenance and Engineering Teams to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and existing assets to deliver required business results.
- Leads efforts to ensure the Reliability and Maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety systems.
- Develops Engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect Plant operations.
- Provides Technical support to Customer groups (Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, R&D) and Technical Groups and Management to resolve plant issues.
- Participate and lead asset upgrades and improvements. Oversee master project schedule/timeline and gates at plant level. Develop new process layouts and documentation.
- Lead and Manage capital projects by conducting cost benefit analysis and equipment selection, vendor management and process background through to implementation.
- Review and approve new equipment design, lead FAT/SAT process, oversee and manage commissioning process to handoff to Site.
- Work with Customer groups on Plant Trials and improvement initiatives to implement cost reduction activities (co-ordination, planning, briefing, documentation, recommendations).
- Liaise closely with Customer groups to confirm standards and results from trials, tests meet required expectations.
- Validate new and existing processes with Customer groups and provide full updates (Costs, drawings, parts, Bill of Materials etc.) as required.
- Scope project work, review and approve safety risk assessments, manage/audit contractor activity through to successful implementation.
- Support execution of PM activity, lead optimization events and co-ordinate contractor support.
- Develop equipment and process modifications to support improvements to MTTR and MTBF metrics.
- Develop and oversee predictive maintenance activities.
- Utilize Six Sigma, RCM, Root Cause analysis, CQV and other methodologies to support reliability improvement initiatives.
- Co-ordinate/participate in equipment design risk assessments to identify safety requirements.
- Oversee breakdown management system, including troubleshooting, reporting/analysis, recurrence prevention.
- Demonstrate full commitment to the implementation of the requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety and to processes which facilitate continual improvement of food safety and quality management
What You’ll Bring:
- 3 - 5 years engineering experience preferably in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment.
- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist Diploma (mechanical / industrial / electrical).
- Professional Engineering Designation preferred.
- Well developed interpersonal skills in communication and team dynamics.
- Must have excellent computer knowledge, proficient in MS Office/AutoCAD, solid to advanced spreadsheet skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communications.
- Self-motivated and passionate individual, who has a high sense of urgency, thrives with a wide variety of work and can deliver consistent results on multiple priorities.
- RCM / Operational Excellence/ RCFA experience.
