Project Engineer
Location - Landmark, MB (20 KM south of Winnipeg, MB)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Environment, the Project Engineer will work closely with the Environment Team to promote and ensure that environmental compliance is adhered to within Maple Leaf Agri Farms.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Management of Capital Expenditure projects ranging from $5,000 - $1,000,000
  • Primary contact for design engineering firm(s)
  • Capital and Operating Budgets
  • Site inspections and evaluations for regulatory compliance and environment management
  • Inspect and audit manure handling systems and storage structures, documenting potential risks and prioritizing repair
  • Lead in sustainability and water conservation initiatives
  • Primary contact with regulators
  • Development and Supervision of environmental corrective action plans
  • Visits (external and internal) to barn locations
  • Coaching and Training barn employees on regulations and environment management

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, P.Eng., EIT, or ability to register as an EIT with the Province of Manitoba
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to be process focused
  • Ability to be an analytical problem solver with the strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues
  • Must possess exceptional skills in:
    • organization (including electronic file organization)
    • time management
    • attention to detail
    • communication
    • critical thinking
    • the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated self-starter that can operate independently with minimum or no supervision
  • Values driven
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel within Manitoba and Saskatchewan, including periods of up to 2 consecutive nights away from home
