The Opportunity:
The incumbent will lead the provision of producer service and develop working relationships with hog producers and their staff with the goal of making Maple Leaf their customer of choice. Liaise with producers and Maple Leaf Pork personnel. Introduce producers to Maple Leaf Foods Procurement programs. Maintain a good working relationship with Feed and Genetic companies and continue to increase producer loyalty to Maple Leaf Foods.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Develop and maintain excellent rapport and effective relationships with hog producers supplying Maple Leaf Foods.
- Communicate Maple Leaf procurement programs and risk management programs to producers.
- Assist producers with analyzing performance of their hogs through reporting and KPI’s.

- Participate with Procurement Leadership team on all key initiatives and PLT preparation.
- Collaborate with Maple Leaf Manufacturing to help producers gain a greater understanding of how each
- of us contributes to our shared success.
- Maintain contacts and relationships with feed and genetic companies.
- Strive to be a role model of the Maple Leaf Leadership Edge values.
- Accountable for coordinating the execution of activities required to successfully implement strategic procurement initiatives.
- Co-ordinate the activities of Procurement Services Representative to ensure we successfully procure the optimal quantity and quality of hogs at a competitive price.
- Build volume of producer’s participating in Maple Leaf contract programs.
- Ensure Maple Leaf Pork Signature direct contracts are completed and executed.
- Communicate our initiatives to producers and assist producers in achieving best results through an understanding of our Signature Pork buying program.
- Strengthen producer relations through extensive service and communication of performance metrics.
- Facilitate producer meetings on focused discussion topics.
What You’ll Bring:
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture or Business is preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in the Agriculture/Hog Industry
- Producer service relations experience a definite asset.
