Position Summary: This position is a combined position between the Training and Quality Assurance Team.
A Snapshot Of Some Of The Exciting Things You Will Do:
Training Team
Provides training and coaching on all aspects of swine production including but not limited to Food Safety and Animal Welfare
Coordination and maintenance of training records
Track and monitor success and completion of training programs
Maintains and ensures program is effective and updates where applicable
Provides recruitment support for all Foreign Recruitment Initiatives
On farm evaluations
Quality Assurance Team
Provide assistance with the development, implementation and maintenance of the MLAF Production Quality Assurance Program, and any other written programs mandated by MLAF
Provide ongoing administrative support for these best practices, including revision, distribution and document control of SOPs and current program references
Maintain databases and records for QA programs
Monitor the effectiveness of, and compliance to, these standards and regulations through internal audit procedures, provide feedback, direction for corrective actions and retraining as required.
Work with the Production Teams to support compliance
Assists with all regulatory, customer, CFIA and other third-party audits and inspections and subsequent follow up.
Management and timely reporting of major deviations and subsequent detailed Corrective Action reports
Liaison with other Maple Leaf business units, customers, industry groups, provincial and federal governments, and external service providers, and deliver presentations periodically
Undertake other related projects as appropriate
What You Will Bring:
Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Agriculture
Working knowledge of animal welfare regulations, GMP/HACCP, Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements considered an asset
Minimum 2 years’ experience in swine production
Must have experience in nursery/finisher phase
Must possess excellent skills in:

Organization and time management
Oral and written communication
MS computer programs
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously
Possess full, valid driving licence.
Willingness to travel within Manitoba and Saskatchewan, including periods of up to 4 consecutive nights away from home
